More and more, people have begun to understand that massage therapy is more than simple ‘pampering.’ Physicians and other health care providers increasingly recommend massage therapy to their patients because they know massage therapy can supplement traditional medical care by relieving stress and pain, reducing blood pressure and boosting the immune system. Recent research shows that massage provides relief for chronic low back pain, eases pain and muscle spasms following bypass surgery, and is effective in treating lymphedema (a condition common among mastectomy survivors). Other chronic pain conditions such as migraines, TMJ dysfunction, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and carpal tunnel syndrome also respond to treatment with therapeutic massage.
After several years in the corporate world as a software test engineer, I moved from Austin to Taylor, Texas and returned to full-time practice as a massage therapist in 2014. I am available by appointment for individual clinical work or corporate events. You can schedule with me directly at 512-944-2603. In addition, please watch my events page for chair massage dates around the community. I'm excited to get back to bringing the benefits of therapeutic massage to my community.
